Subnautica is an underwater adventure game set on an alien ocean planet. A huge open world awaits you, full of wonders and dangers!
Dive into a huge underwater world
You have crashed on a miraculous ocean world, where the only way leads down. Subnautica’s oceans range from sun-kissed coral reefs to treacherous deep-sea chasms, lava fields, and bioluminescent underwater rivers. Monitor your oxygen supply as you explore kelp beds, plateaus, reefs and winding cave systems. The waters are teeming with life: some useful, many dangerous.
Collect, create and survive
After crash-landing in an escape capsule, it’s a race against time to find water, food, and create survival gear. Collect resources in the ocean around you. Create knives, diving equipment and personal watercraft. Go deeper and further in search of rarer resources that will allow you to create more advanced items.
Build underwater dwellings
Build bases on the seabed. Choose layout and elements, control strength as depth and pressure increase. Use the base to store resources, dock transport, and replenish oxygen supplies as you explore the vast ocean.
Unravel the mystery
What happened to this planet? There are plenty of signs that something is wrong. What caused you to crash? What infects marine life? Who built the mysterious structures scattered throughout the ocean? Can you find a way to get off the planet alive?
Break the food chain
The ocean is teeming with life: use the ecosystem to your advantage. Lure and distract dangerous creatures with fresh fish, or simply swim as fast as you can to avoid the gnashing jaws of wandering predators.
Overcome the Pressure
Build a Jet Autonomous Armored Suit (or “CRAB”) and explore the extreme depths and heat. Customize your suit with drills, torpedo launchers, propulsion cannons, grappling hooks and more.
Beware the Night
When the sun goes down, predators appear. The ocean does not forgive those who were unexpectedly caught in the dark. Places that are safe to explore during the day become treacherous at night, but also reveal beauty that those who avoid the darkness will never see.
Dive below the seabed
Below the seafloor, cave systems branch out, from dark, cramped passages to large caverns illuminated by bioluminescent life and scorching lava flows. Explore the world beneath the ocean floor, but keep an eye on your oxygen levels and beware of the threats that lurk in the dark.
