Description
Clunky Hero tells the adventures of a clumsy and funny-looking guy named Rufus, who lived with his beloved Brunhilda. The premise of the game is very simple. One day, the villain kidnapped the protagonist’s wife, locked her in his castle and turned her into a stereotypical social media girl who loves to do duckface. After that, just a peasant put a bucket on his head, armed himself with a broom and went on a rescue mission.
Clunky Hero can be classified as a metroidvania. It is a 2D side-scrolling action platformer with a semi-open world. The indie project also has RPG elements. The game has a fantasy setting, presented with humor. The hero fights against the backdrop of medieval buildings with animated stone heads, drunken bees, and bearded hipsters. The project is replete with various jokes and references to memes.
Interconnected locations can be explored freely. The map helps you navigate the area. Periodically, the character stumbles upon places where he cannot yet get to. To get into such zones, you need to gain new abilities as you progress, such as the ability to jump higher or climb walls. During the journey, you encounter coins. With the collected gold you can buy useful items from merchants. Some things give an increase to characteristics. The warrior has an inventory where he stores all the goods he finds. Shops are located in the village. There you can simply chat with the residents or take quests from them.
